Music at Community
At Community UMC, you will find a vibrant music ministry that offers opportunities for people of all ages and all musical abilities and backgrounds. Not only will you find hymns and praise music, you will also be inspired by classical, contemporary, gospel, spirituals and music from around the world. There is a place for you! Sanctuary Choir
Who –
Led by Stephen Edwards, this loving group of singers of all abilities and backgrounds
worship and build relationships through inspiring worship.
This choir is made up of people of all ages from seniors in high school and up.
What –
This choir sings a wide variety of passionate, spirit-filled music.
When –
Sanctuary Choir rehearses on Thursday nights from 7:00-8:30pm in the Sanctuary.
Where –
We sing in our main Sanctuary services 3-4 times a month.

Women's Ensemble
Who –
Led by Stephen Edwards, this intimate group of female singers loves to laugh
and build relationships through their offering of music.
Women of all ages and abilities from seniors in high school and up are encouraged to attend.
What –
This ensemble sings a wide variety of music arranged for women.
When –
Women's Ensemble rehearses on Tuesday nights from 7:00-8:00pm
prior to the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month in the Music Room.
Where –
We sing in our main Sanctuary services and in our
OnCenter contemporary service twice a month.

OnCenter Band
Who –
This rotating band
(including singers, guitars, bass, keyboards, drums and occasionally other instruments),
invites all ages from senior high through adults to join the fun.
What –
We express our passion for God and worship through energetic and fun-filled
contemporary Christian praise and worship music.
When –
The On Center Band rehearses Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 in the main building music room
or in Zucker Hall in St. Peter and Paul's junior high building.
Where –
The band leads worship weekly at our On Center contemporary worship service
at 11:00 am on Sundays and located in St. Peter and Paul's junior high building (one block east of the main building) at 210 East Franklin Street.

Rejoice Dancers
Who –
This caring ensemble consists of Youth and Adults and is led by Donna Pries.
What –
The Rejoice Dancers express their faith and worship through movement.
When –
Rejoice Dancers meet on Saturday mornings from 10:00-11:00AM in the main Sanctuary.
Where –
This ensemble dances in worship once a month in our main Sanctuary Services.

Rainbow Dancers
Who –
This animated children's dance ensemble ranges in age from 5 year olds to fifth grade
and is led by Donna Pries. Children of all abilities are encouraged to join.
What –
Through movement, these children learn about worshiping God with their whole body.
When –
Rainbow Dancers rehearse on Monday nights from 5:30-6:15 p.m. on the stage (room 202).
Where –
Rainbow Dancers dance in our main Sanctuary Services
or in our OnCenter Contemporary Service once a month.

Carillon Bells
Who –
Led by Eldora Juha, this heartfelt ensemble expresses their praise through hand bell ringing.
Adults of all ages who desire to ring are encouraged to attend.
What –
This ensemble worships by playing music in many styles.

Carillon Bells rehearses Wednesday afternoons from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Where –
Carillon Bells plays in our main Sanctuary services once a month.

Open Circle Ringers
Who –
This fun-loving ensemble, started by our Open Circle Sunday School Class, praises through ringing hand bells.
Adults of all ages who desire to ring are encouraged to attend.
Dottie Van Marter leads the bell choir.
What –
This ensemble worships by playing music in many styles.
When –
Open Circle Ringers rehearses Monday evenings from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Where –
Open Circle Ringers plays in our 8:30AM main Sanctuary service once a month.

Youth Band
Who –
Led by Stephen Edwards, this exciting, fun and high-energy
ensemble expresses their praise by singing and playing in a praise band.
Youth from sixth to twelfth grade are invited to be part of this new group!
What –
The youth band worships through styles of music that meet students
where they are on their faith journey.
When –
Sundays at 1:00 p.m. in the music room. The first rehearsal is September 27.
Where –
Youth Band leads in special music once a month in our 11:00AM main Sanctuary Service
and leads the OnCenter service 3-4 times a year.

Tower Bells
Who –
This enthusiastic group of youth in sixth to twelfth grade,
led by Kevin Markwell, praise and worship through playing hand bells.
What –
Tower Bells plays exciting and meaningful music in a variety of styles
that speak to the heart of youth.

Tower Bells rehearses Wednesday evenings from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Where –
Tower Bells plays in our main Sanctuary service once a month.

Joyful Noise
Who –
Led by Amy Hollander and Mary Elliott,
this exciting and energetic group is made up of preschoolers ages 3-5.
What –
Amy and Mary set the foundation of worship by focusing on vocal fundamentals,
Bible Study and arts and crafts.
When –
Joyful Noise rehearses Wednesday afternoons from 4:30-5:30pm in Fellowship Hall.
Where –
Joyful Noise sings once a month in either our main Sanctuary Service
or our OnCenter Contemporary Service.

Hosanna Choir
Who –
Hosanna Choir, led by Beth Hagemeyer, is a fun and entertaining group of 1st-5th graders.
What –
In Hosanna Choir, worship and gaining a basic understanding of music and rhythms is emphasized.
When –
Hosanna Choir rehearses Wednesday afternoons from 4:30-5:30pm in the Music Room.
Where –
Hosanna Choir sings once a month in either our main Sanctuary Service
or our OnCenter Contemporary Service.

The Beat
Who –
This group of older elementary students (third-fifth grade)
is led by Beth Elders and Joline Bastounes.
What –
This Orff-based ensemble is hands-on and utilizes percussion and Orff instruments to teach children the joy of music and worship.
When –
The Beat will begin meeting in October, on a day and time to be announced.
Where –
The Beat plays in our 11:00AM main Sanctuary Service and in our OnCenter Contemporary Service.
